I am so glad to be back at Ohio University, Number Five Party School in the Nation. This is obviously a great fit for a girl who does not enjoy alcohol, tobacco, or "messing around" with boys. Thanks, Mother and Dad, for helping me make just the right choice.
My ungrateful sarcasm is just in jest, of course :) There are other things to do on campus, and my friends are very nice, cool people (yes, this includes you, Leslie! Don't you enjoy my gratuitous compliments?). It's not a no-pressure situation, but definitely qualifies as no-ostracism.
Or should that be non-ostracism? I want to mention that I hate, loathe, and despise my Precision Language course. It is beginning to take on elements one would normally expect to encounter in one of the lower-most Circles of Hell. These ominous developments are particularly noticeable in the Precision Language homework with its nasty little "So-is-this-a-predicate-adjective? Or-is-it-not? Guess-and-die" questions. However, us poor saps in the Scripps School of Journalism have to get at least a "C" in said class before we are allowed to advance.
That's right, I'm going to be a trained news monkey! Feed me fruits and I'll do tricks!
From the Too-Thin-Lately Good News File: Cardinal Pell bans liberal Catholic conference. I already knew Pell was one of the good guys, but he keeps getting better! Why on earth do people think that they have a right to dissent from doctrine and then demand that church property be open for their group's little gatherings?
Also, via CWNews.com, comes this: New volume will collect social encyclicals. This is great because it will provide an opportunity for the orthodox to further enlighten their minds with regard to the responsibilities, requirements, and beauty of Catholic social teaching, while administering an excellent smack-down to all the liberals who think that the preferential option for the poor provides carte blanche for every big-government, vaguely-socialistic novelty that appears on the scene.
Ahhhhh, now I fell better ...
