Mmmmm sleepy

Well, last night was really fun! It was, of course, the night for the infamous Athens Halloween block party. I went as a witch - dumb, last-minute costume, but it worked! Other than a couple boys who were rather aggressive (with the encouragement of my so-called friends! He he he:)) it was a fun night. We went home pretty early (I'm one of those people that gets really quiet in crowds) so I don't know if things went bad later that night, but everything seemed under control on Court Street while we were there.

As far as costumes go, I counted one "Pope," one "Bishop," nine "priests," one "pregnant nun" and innumerable other "nuns." What's funny is that most real nuns today (sadly) don't wear habits. And many of the "priests" were in cassocks, and hardly any real-life priests wear those, either, nowadays :( Luckily, a lot of the newer, growing religious orders DO require habits and cassocks.

In case you were wondering what a cassock looks like, here's a photo. The priests are from the FSSP, one of those neato new religious orders. In America they are called the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.
