Yucky morning

What awful weather. I just wanted to stay curled up in bed this morning, and avoid the slightly chill air, gray sky and very soggy ground.

But nooooo, I had my Precision Language (Grammar) Final Exam at lovely 8 AM. So I dragged myself out of bed at six, showered, procrastinated, studied, and then went to Scripps. I actually feel like I aced that test, which is as sure a sign of failure as any I know. I guess I won't know 'till I get my grades ...

The good news is that taking it at 8 gets it out of the way and off my Stress Meter. I don't have another exam until Monday, when I have two (at 3 ish and 7 - French and Stats). So, after 9:45, I came back to my dorm for what is basically a three-day weekend. Ah, lots of time. To study :)

French will be pretty easy, I think. Stats will beat me, kill me, and throw my body to the pack of starving wolves howling outside the door of the examination room.

In other news: The USCCB has elected its new president, Bishop Skylstad of Spokane, Washington. From all that I have heard, he is Bad news, with a capital B. His diocese is filing for bankruptcy, he fumbled the sexual abuse scandal horribly, and he is not conservative (most notably on the Communion issue, but, disturbingly, on a whole host of other subjects). And Bishop Trautman was put in charge of a committee on the liturgy. Gulp. I love these men as fathers, of course, but some of them do not have the best judgments ...

The only good news was that Cardinal George was elected VP, and the VP usually becomes President (Skylstad was previously VP).

Here are the results of the Presidential and Vice Presidential votes. (As you can see, they had to have several tallies before they made a choice.)
