Annoying annoying annoying

If there is one thing I CAN NOT stand, it is t-shirts with Che Guevara's face on them. They are, of course, very popular on college campuses like mine.

I know, I know. Che is supposed to be the universal symbol for youthful revolution, idealism, rebellion against authority, Motorcycle Diaries, blah blah blah. But I get the distinct impression that the college kids who wear Che's ugly mug don't actually know what he did. I'm not talking about the fact that he was a Communist - that's bad enough for me, but this is Ohio University, after all ;) I'm talking about Che's infamous Cuban concentration camps, where he imprisoned and executed everyone from homosexuals to youths who were caught listening to "Yankee Imperialist" rock music. Does anybody bother to read history anymore? Or do they just think to themselves, oh boy, that's chic! I'm gonna buy that and wear it! What is even more amusing is that I always seem to see Che's face on shirts belonging to white-bread, upper-middle class undergraduates, who would probably sit down and cry if someone took away the "system" that is providing them, via their parents' pocket-books, with cars, cell phones, designer labels and cash for booze.

Sorry for the rant. I'm trying to avoid studying for my psychology exam, and as you can tell, I'm being very, very successful.
