Papa on a cell

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

This pilgrim handed Benedict a cell phone, and Papa was very happy to talk for a while!

I wonder what kind of cell-phone conversation you could have with the Supreme Pontiff. I personally would have been freaking out. What if you had trouble understanding that adorable German accent? And wouldn't it be horrible if you were having a nice chat and suddenly you started losing bars? "Uh oh, Holiness, you're breaking up!" I am sure, however, that for his own communications the Holy Father uses Verizon wireless, with its annoying "Can you hear me now?" commercials. So that never happens to him ... ;)

That's not the only thing Papa did at his Wednesday audience. If you read the story I linked above, you will find out that he also modeled a firefighter's helmet for the crowd; if you want to see a pic of that, you can go to my sister's blog, here.

Papa really seems to be enjoying his Wednesday audiences!

  2. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw! He's not only pope, he's down with modern technology! That's so cute! I bet most 78 year olds would be thrown by cell phones.

And what does one say to the pope in a minute long cell phone conversation, anyways?

And now I'm wondering what kind of cell reception you can get inside the Vatican... Lol! ;)
