My News Writing class met for the first time today. Oh, weep. For the final exam, I have to actually write a story and go out and report on it. You know, gather sources, and background information ... blah blah BLAHHHHH!! I hate talking to people I don't know. And demanding interviews from them. And I have no ideas for stories. For goodness sake! I guess that's what journalists really do all day ... ugh. I knew I shoulda majored in English or Political Science.
I just wish I wasn't so painfully shy! This, on top of handling Confirmation and working on that 12 page research paper, is really going to take it out of me. Macroeconomics seems pretty easy so far (I wonder how long that will last). Why, why did I sign up for this horrible schedule? Siiiiigh.
News Writing is a required course, however, so there's no escape. Ah, ah.
On a happy note, Leslie gave out her presents tonight. She gave me a little photoholder (with photo of His Holiness in it!) and a candle (ooo, illegal! contraband! Scream the Lincoln RAs) and a "Grow A Nerd." Don't ask, it's very clever though.
I am sure everything will be all right. I hope, I hope, I hope.

Oh, Nick, you're so sweet ;) Acutally, Betsy, today on the phone, very nearly convinced me that the whole thing would be fun! Argh :) Not quite buying it, but we'll see.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, I technically meant that the Nerd was clever, but you are clever too!!! At the end of the quarter, your Chemistry prof will bow down before you in recognition of his vanquishment!! :)
