Okay, I'll agree to go to a bar

On my 21st birthday. Gasp! Who would have thought it! My friends in Athens are probably squealing with delight right now. Not so fast! I'll only go if they are having an event like this:
A Pint With Your Priest: Church Books Bar

(AP) MANCHESTER, N.H. So, these two priests walk into a bar ... No joke. A Roman Catholic parish has booked four talks at a local bar in an effort to reach out to 20- and 30-somethings who don't go to church. Alcohol will be served.

The Ste. Marie Parish's first presentation, "Naked & Without Shame," is scheduled for Thursday and will deal with Catholic views on sexuality, contraception and sex and marriage.

This reminds me of those great "Theology on Tap" programs they sometimes have. In my hometown, Hudson, our parish's associate pastor (about 30 years old) had a couple sessions of it at one of the local taverns, I believe.

A very fitting article to post the morning after the Athens bars got their annual Halloween workout, wouldn't you say? ;)
