I am catching a plane down to Birmingham on Thursday. I have a strange mix of both nervousness and excitement when I think about it! I can't wait to see Casa Maria and meet the Sisters. :)
Let's see... Today is Saturday, which makes it five days away. Gulp! ;) I am going to have heavy make-up work - two exams! - on Wednesday. I think I'll do all right, though. Please pray that my retreat helps me to discern the will of God and strengthens me to carry it through.
I am also excited because the first encyclical is coming out on Wednesday, too. From what I have gleaned from the press, it's about the intersection between erotic love and charity. "Whoa, the Pope is talking in-depth about sex!" is what I'm sure we'll be hearing from all the shocked press people. If they had been paying attention they would have caught on to John Paul II's very frank Love and Responsibility and Theology of the Body! I am sure Papa Benedict's letter will be just as wonderful and intellectually stimulating!
