Papa at Auschwitz

Pope Benedict XVI walks through Auschwitz's notorious gate with the phrase 'Arbeit Macht Frei' (Work sets you free) during his visit to the former Nazi death camp May 28, 2006. Benedict XVI ends his four-day trip to Poland on Sunday with an emotional visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, to pray for peace as the head of the world's 1 billion Catholics and a 'son of Germany', whose countrymen set up and ran World War Two's most infamous death camp.
